TaeKwonDo: A Journey That Started in 1982

I began my journey with the World TaeKwonDo Association. Wanting to learn how to incorporate boxing with kicking techniques, I transitioned to train with Master Terry Middleton of New Albany, Indiana. He held several Indiana Kickboxing Championship titles.

Grand Master Glenn Keeney, a Black Belt Hall of Fame inductee from Anderson, Indiana, also had a significant influence on my martial arts journey.

Over my 43 years in martial arts, I have been promoted by the World TaeKwonDo Association, the Midwest Martial Arts Association, the United States Martial Arts Association, and the Independent Martial Arts Federation.

Martial Arts Style & School History

I teach a blend of Boxing, TaeKwonDo, Kickboxing, and American Kenpo. My school was originally named Birdseye Karate Kickboxing Boxing. In 1992, I opened my second school, which led me to change the name to Championship Martial Arts LLC.

Over the next few years, we participated in 15 open tournaments across various martial arts disciplines, winning hundreds of trophies, plaques, and medals.

I have taught for 33 of my 43 years in Martial Arts. I have never went on a vacation since I opened my school.

In October 2013, I sold my Jasper school on Newton Street in Jasper, Indiana, to Anytime Fitness.

After that, I reopened the Birdseye, Indiana location. I currently offer four trial group hours, after which students can choose between private lessons on a month-to-month basis or a contract agreement of 15 weeks or more, which includes superior benefits.

Professional Experience

I’ve dedicated 33 of my 43 years in martial arts to teaching. Since opening my school, I haven’t taken a single vacation, consistently teaching seven days a week through both group and private lessons.

In October 2013, I sold my Jasper school on Newton Street to Anytime Fitness and later reopened the Birdseye, Indiana location to continue my passion for instruction.
